Musical Istrument Confesional
At the beginning if this project I thought that it was going to be really easy. I thought that all I would have to do is measure the other piano that the people made last year. However, I found out while I was measuring it that the dimensions of this particular piano would not work with another. I had thought that Chris was going to get the exact same materials. He didn't, he got pipes with different diameters, and different wood that isn't as strong. Because of this my partner and I had to put extra reinforcements on the structure. Also we just measured the pipes of the person who did it last year, hoping that we could just use those lengths and circumvent the math that looked really hard. My partner and I quickly learned that the lengths for the pipes used last year won't work for my pipes. The pipes my partner and I had access to were a lot smaller than the pipes that the other class had, this meant the math for them would be different. This had me totally bummed out. The required math had square roots in it and I am bad at square roots. So I figured that it would be easier to look for the lengths on the internet so we googled the lengths of the pipes for the diameter we had. We found them and the lengths worked but I still don't understand the math at all.
